There are sometimes when we may do something special for somebody and we just don’t know how it is going to turn out when all is said and done. One mother decided she would do something special for her daughter because of issues that were happening with the family. Her husband was laid off from his job and she knew that they wouldn’t be able to do anything that required money for quite some time. She decided that it was time for them to go see a movie together.

Rebecca Boyd chose the movie, Cinderella and she took her to see it so the two of them could have a nice time together. The movie theater was fairly crowded that day and they ended up having a problem. Some teenagers were sitting behind them and were kicking the seats and being so noisy that they were interrupting the movie. Rebecca asked them to stop but they didn’t pay any mind to her. It wasn’t what happened during the movie that drew any attention but it was what happened after the movie was over that managed to captivate the nation.

They were watching the movie at Tannehill Premiere Cinema 14 in Bessemer, Alabama. Rebecca was out with her 12-year-old daughter for a nice evening together but the unruly teenagers made it difficult for them to enjoy watching the movie. Not only were they being noisy, they were kicking the seats so Rebecca turned around and asked them a number of times to be quiet.

They didn’t pay any attention to what she asked. They just gave a rude reply and continued to make noise. The mother then told them how much their behavior was having an impact on both her and her daughter.

As it turns out, the girls’ big brother was with them. He decided that he would tell their mother about the bad behavior of his younger sisters. Rebecca didn’t know that it would have an impact but it did.

The girls mother is Kyesha Smith Wood and when she heard what had happened, she decided she had to do something about it. She found Rebecca by searching on social media because she wanted to know who told her 13-year-old daughter and her stepdaughter to be quiet.

“I can assure you that these girls are being strongly dealt with and appropriately punished. This rude, disrespectful, and awful behavior is unacceptable, and they owe you an apology,” Kyesha wrote in her public post.
“My husband and I are having them write your apology letter tonight and we would like to pay for your next movie and snacks out of their allowance. Please message me if this is you. I apologize profusely for their disrespect.”

The Facebook post went viral because it was posted publicly. It also was shared on a community news Facebook page as well as by the Jefferson County Sheriff’s office.

Finally, the message reached the person it was intended to reach, Rebecca Boyd.

Although it may have been difficult for the girls, it did have the impact that was hoped for.

“My girls are so mortified. They are humiliated. And, that’s okay because I told them, ‘You know what, you’re not going to do this again,’” Kyesha said, according to ABC.

She was very thankful and forgiving for what Rebecca had done. “She’s the most gracious, kind and forgiving woman. I am so humbled by that, and I’ve been telling people the real hero of the story is her,” she said.

“She took it upon herself to correct my girls and no one else around them did.”

The best part of the story is that it has a good ending. The children have all become good friends and are even sharing meals with each other.

The mothers have also become friends because of their belief in old-fashioned parenting.
